Kitting and Warehouse Processor

Job Position: Kitting and Warehouse Processer

DEPARTMENT: MANUFACTURING / ENGINEERING

Wages: Hourly | Reports to Alex Buford

This position will work under the supervision of the Manufacturing and Engineering department as well as working alongside the Foundry and Shipping departments. The individual will spend time each day creating “kits” of raw materials required to fabricate molds based off of the production schedule. The Kitting and Warehouse Processer (KW Processer) will also maintain inventory levels and documentation of all raw materials including the casting inventory. This documentation will entail daily data entry of counts, levels and locations of raw materials into Omaha Steel’s computer system. The KW Processer will additionally assist in transferring and inspecting all raw material items received on the shipping dock as well as placing them in their final storage location. This position will require a keen ability to maintain an organized work space as well as a computer log.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtaining daily production schedules and identifying the required raw materials for the quantity scheduled to run
  • Locating the necessary raw materials, pulling them from their location and recording the transaction in ERP system
  • Processing these raw materials to the correct specifications
  • Locating the correct quantity and type of “Chills” for production runs, blasting and packaging
  • Locating and pulling the correct cores and quantities required for production runs
  • Packaging these items needed for production runs into a container as a kit
  • Moving packaged kits to their respective areas at the end of plant production line
  • Removing previous day’s kits and returning goods to warehouse
  • Logging any returned inventory with reason for return
  • Locating and retrieving the necessary finished goods castings in inventory daily and as required
  • Material handling of casting to and from the plant inspection area
  • Placing finished goods into casting inventory locations inside warehouse
  • Perform physical counts and record locations of finished castings in inventory
  • Inspect incoming goods for damage and count accuracy
  • Material handling of incoming goods from receiving are into raw material storage in warehouse
  • Maintaining accurate counts and locations in computer system
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work space within the storage buildings
  • Consolidating of casting inventory
  • Assisting with locating and storing of tooling when time permits
  • Working daily schedule around normal plant production schedule to obtain forklift time

Entry Level Qualifications and Requirements

  • Forklift license and Omaha Steel forklift certification
  • Outstanding service orientation; sense of urgency; high-level of personal integrity

  • Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in an unsupervised manner
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Must have reliable attendance
